Running in the rain... some of my most memorable runs have been in the rain. My favorite place to run is at this park where you can run down by the beach and through the park. Especially in the off season it is so peaceful and quiet. I love it.

I really enjoy your pictoral additions to your blog. It's fun to see what you see while reading what you feel!

I live in the country and have started my running journey by running the gravel roads...I have yet to venture out beyond!

That being said, my favorite run is around the block...it's a little over four miles and gives a HUGE feeling of accomplishment.

I ran 4.34 miles the day of this entry.

I love to run down this one long street in my neighborhood. If I had to guess I'd guess its about 2 miles from end to end. There are a couple of small lakes along this road, and its so calming to look over the water while I'm running. I also like it because its a great road to build up distance on. Go an extra block or so and you add another quarter to half a mile onto your run! Really convenient and I'm never too far from my house.

I have a running question for you too: how long would you say it takes to break in a new pair of shoes? I need to invest in a new pair but I know I need to think about my spring race plans and if I'll have enough time to break them in before some upcoming races.

I love to run the bike path in Taylorville which is 45 minutes away from where I live. Sometimes when I go visit my parents on the weekend I ask my mom to go with me out there.

We start out at the lake and run towards the "country" It's absolutely gorgeous, quiet and the lake always looks so gorgeous. Especially around 4:00 in the afternoon. The glow of the sunlight is enough to put a huge smile on my face and make me forget about all the problems or obstacles I am facing in my life.
Running that path gives me a peace of mind.

Unfortunately I haven't found a place like that to run where I live. Every place is crowded with shops, traffic or apartment complexes.
