Weekend Rewind!

11:01 PM: Pass out in bed.

10:00: Drive home

7:30: Watch different versions on Alice in Wonderland, including the original and some weirdo Czech version made with real dead animals. It was super creepy.

7:00: Feast on deliciousness with friends.

3:30: Enter the grill master.  Prep baby back ribs, 12 1/4lb burgers and brats.

3:00: Head to a friends for a BBQ and ping pong tournament

1:00: Worship God and what not.

11:30: Foam roll my fatigued bod

10:00: Thoroughly loathe world's worst swim, I wanted to vomit.  Could barely go 25 yards.  The pool smelled like puke and cologne, and like Olympic pro swimming next to me.

9:00: Arise from a glorious slumber. Yes, I got almost 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep, on top of a 3 hour nap. GLORY!

SUNDAY

9:26 PM: Pass out into a deep deep slumber

8:00: Talk my friends into going to Yogurtime, slurp down green tea froyo

7:00: Out to eat with besties @ Thai Place.  Order a mint-cilantro beef salad, take one bite and have a weird hiccup allergic reaction.  Unable to eat another bite, my mouth blistered and everything.  I have ZERO food allergies, so what gives?  Mooched off Logan's, pad thai.

6:00 Wake up from epicnaptime

3:00: Insist on staying home to do chores, like laundry and clean while Logan went to visit friends.  Instead, had epicnaptime.

2:30: Venture to Costco.

2:00: Arrive at home, unpack all my goods.  Revel in my winnings and regale Logan about my auto-bravery and market tales.

Noon: Go for lunch at BK Burger Lounge, order garden chicken salad and inhale it.

10:00: Finally! The City Market!  We arrive and muggle through traffic.  Shop around and make purchases.  Definitely enjoyed people watching.  Invest in various veggies, spices and baked goods.

8:30: Find Megan.  Tell her to google "how to change a tire" and loosen lug nuts and begin to jack up her car.  Oogle at the GIANT hole she put in her tire, once it's revealed when the tire lifts off the ground.  Wrestle the flat off, and secure the doughnut on the car.  Drive her car back to my Mom's to make sure it wasn't a vehicle of death.

8:28: Get a call from Megan, "I just BLEW A TIRE!"

8:00: Arrive at mi madres, make some coffee and shoot the poop.  Wake up my sister.

7:15: Shower off the disgustingness from the run.

6:00: Meet Scootz for a planned 6 miler, cut run by 2 miles due to heat/humidity.  At 6am it was already 81 degrees, 77% humidity.  It was mis-town.

5:30 AM: Jolt outta bed!

SATURDAY

1:01: Force myself to sleep

11:59: Movie FINALLY ends! zomg! It was like a million years long.

9:15: Arrive at Drive-In to see Transformers 3 with my love, with the hopes this will cheer him up.

8:00: Purchase mega-treats for Drive-In: Twizzlers, Chex-Mix, Exploding gummy candy, and Mike n Ikes

7:00: Take Goliath on a walk up to Yogurtime to meet our friends RyRy and SofSof, they are training for KC Half Marathon, go them!! It was wicked hott, but we walked anyway.  Goliath and I both got froyo.

5:00: Farted around on the interwebs while Logan tinkered with the Acura.

4:00: Arrived home, embraced Logan and had a heart to heart about the situation.  It's gonna be ok.

3:00: Got word at work we can leave early!

1:00: Got a call from Logan: "....I was laid off today..."

Do That Booty Work

AHHHH IT'S FRIDAY!!!! Do you know how excited this makes me!  Here's why:
1. No Class
2. F is for Favorite, and it's also the first letter of Friday, so naturally favorite!
3. After Friday comes Saturday and that means epic nap time.
4. Friday is Latin for fun
5. I am unofficially dubbing Friday: Frozen Yogurt Friday.

Do you like my Friday skirt? I am on the fence.
Yesterday was a good day!  Work was not hectic.  I finally got out of my three day slump and worked out.  Had a good night with friends...and food.  Food and I are good friends.

My work out was a 40 minute free swim, just doing laps back and forth.  I am not ready to do sets and be hardcore about swimming.  So I just gave myself a time goal, and called it good.  Didn't even count laps.  In the three lanes, from right to left, there was me, a girl and a trainer learning to freestyle, and some cracked out middle aged woman who kept talking to herself and the wall.

Do I go to a sketchy gym?  This lady totally freaked me out.  She was audibly cussing, and complaining about pain.  She also kept looking at me and watching me swim, and would make comments about my laps-I don't know if they were to me ooor just ya know-rhetorical?  But it was pretty hard for me to finish 40 minutes and focus.

After a quick dry off and change, I did some easy lifting. That may be an oxymoron: easy lifting.  I did:
3 Sets of:
25 static lunges with bicep curls, both sides
20 balance ball crunches with arm raise, both sides
20 tricep dips
25 lateral lunches with lateral arm raise, both sides
25 squats with arm press

Pretty good sets for just winging it, right?  Alls I know is I am sore today!

So I have decided to get myself motivated to lift more I need to do the following things, today is a list day:
1. Invest in a program: I have reserved the New Rules of Lifting Book at B&N, everyone seems to being going nutso about this book, so might as well try it!
2. Invest in cuter work out clothes:  I really need to stop dressing like a dude, and feel cute and confident in my exercise clothes.  I love my running stuff, not my gym stuff.  If I am going to have people judging me, I might as well give them something to look at?

3.  Invest in self tanner:  Sorry, but everyone knows muscles look better tan.  I hate to admit it, but it's true.
4.  Develop a lifting playlist:  Suggest songs!  My running jams don't fit, they make me want to lift really fast.

I finished my night with a Long Island and some buffalo wings! Hello heaven!

Beatin' Like a Drum

Ok, day three no working out.  Good news is: I haven't gained a metric ton.  I just feel icky and without energy.  I went to bed pretty early last night after party pooping at a friends house, and slept alllll the way until 7am. Wow.  That's huge for me.  Maybe sleeping in and not working out this morning is something my body needed?  Sleep is just as important as the dieting, the exercising, etc.

Did I mention I totally party pooped last night?  I will own up to it.  We went over to our good friend's house: Stevesters and JoJoJordan.  Is it weird that I refuse to call people by their real name?  Nicknames are wins!  Stevearoni had prepared us an italian feast, and I was ready to park my chair at the spread.  She whipped up some fettucini, yummy italian soup (which I asked the name of like 5 times...and can't remember), salad and garlic bread.  A carb loaders dream!

So after I inhaled the best dinner ever known to man, we went to their game cave for some serious playstation time.  I of course, mainly socialized with their boxer, Hurley, who is in a love-hate relationship with Goliath.  They have a playstation move and so we played with that for a while, I insisted on playing volleyball.  It was awkward and even though I am real life volleyball player I honestly could not figure out the timing in e-volleyball.  So weird!  I took things to the next level on rock band and played on medium, watch out Rolling Stones.

Hurlz!

This picture killed us, look at him crossing his legs!
Why yes I do wear my running gear to hang out...and all the time.  Get over it!

Oh, It Be Like

What's that on the horizon? More Frozen Yogurt?!

Yogurtime: Kid Tested, Mom Approved!

T-Bomb hates froyo. lamesauce.

sucker.

OK so I went to Yogurtime again, I may or may not be obsessed and I may or may not be already planning on my next visit.

I haven't had much time for my training this week, take a guess why? Work and class.  To be fair, I did have a midterm this week.  I took that today, phew.  I am really looking forward to not having class tomorrow, and being able to sleep in....right? WRONG.  I need to get my rear up before the sun to run.

I haven't worked out since Monday's volleyball, and I legit feel like I have gained 20 gazillion pounds.  The exercise guilt monster is pretty brutal.  Whatevvs though, I know it was just a temporary set back.  I'm not injured or anything, I just need to fall back into my routine-which contrary to popular belief CAN be just as easy as falling out of it.

Something I am really struggling with is falling in love with lifting.  It is something I know I have to do,but my committeemen to it is so frail. The main reason is because I only lift on random days, I don't follow any plan and essentially have no solid idea what the frick I am doing.  The only toning program I have followed through with was Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred, and I really did like the results.  Maybe I should do that again? Yay or nay?  Goliath sure did enjoy me doing jumping jacks in the living room.

I am off to go max on some major pasta at my friends casa!

DO YOU LIFT WEIGHTS?
 WHAT PROGRAM DO YOU FOLLOW?
WHAT ARE YOU HAVING FOR DINNER?

Dream So Long

Sorry about No-Post-Monday!!  I guess I was so overwhelmed with the weekend whirlwind, that I did not have much to write about yesterday!

Anywhoo, Monday was a busy day for me.  Class, Work and then the highlight of my week: Sand Volleyball.  I seriously look forward to this all day.  Unfortunately, I woke up yesterday morning without electricity.  We had another round of total brutal storms that knocked out the power in my whole neighborhood.  It's always fun getting ready in complete darkness.

So remember how I said I went grocery shopping on Sunday night?  What a twist of irony right?  Instead of me putting off buying food, like normal, I ambitiously bought food only for it to spoil in the fridge while we went without power for 20 hours. AWESOME!!

Needless to say, I was kinda bummin on my way home from work....until I saw that YOGURTIME OPENED!!! FINALLLLLYYYYY FROZEEEN YOGURTTTT THAT I CAN SLEEP WALK TO!

ZOMGZORS!

I totally freaked out.  There was no time for to go before volleyball, so I called Logan immediately and said "Yogurtime is open, we got at 9-be ready."   I had been watching the store front for months for signs and symptoms of their pending opening.  Yesterday, I finally got to diagnose it.

The second my games ended, I bolted and picked up Logan.  Even though he knew my intentions I still had to beg him to go, he was pretty comfy tucked in at home.  I would have made us walk, but it was hard enough getting him to join me.  I didn't even shower any of the sand off me.

Yogurtime is fabulous!  Great selection!  Unlike all the other area froyo places that have ice-cream-like flavors ala cake batter, german chocolate, etc.  They actually had tart and GREEN TEA.  I may or may not have freaked out.  So delicious.  I topped it with coconut and strawberries.  The girl at the counter said I was the first person to get that flavor all day and they were considering removing it. I informed her if the removed it, I may never ever come back....which is a bold face lie.

Logan ended up not liking his selection so I got TWO tubs of yogurt. WIN!  It was sooooo good you guys! I am so exited to have frozen yogurt back in my life, let alone one I can walk to.
