It's A Giveaway!

You read it right!

It's about that time.  Finals are over, I have about a week of summer and I want to spread the love.

As you saw, I ran Rock the Crossroads 5k the first weekend of July.  At the finish line, I was handed a few samples of a supplement.  I brushed it off.  Honestly, how many times have you been pushed a protein powder, or a water enhancer or a vitamin at the end of a race and in turn told it will change your training?  A lot.  So yeah, it took the little piece of card stock and shoved it in a bag, and ignored it for about a week.

Until, I was cleaning out my car a week later and found it.

It was hotter that nuts outside.  I was tired and I thought, what the heck?  And gave it a try.

I am not a supplement gal.  Apart from the few months where I took a Flintstones multivitamin, I have never gotten into vitamins, supplements, enzymes or anything of that ilk.  There are people in my life who pop horse-sized supplements by the handfuls, and swear they increase their quality of life.  I feel great as is, so why do I need them?

The bottom line is, I don't NEED them.  Who really does?

The other bottom line is, after trying the supplement that hot steamy day in July, I felt incredible.  I cleaned out my car, and got a lot other odds and ends done.  So I did some internerd research about the vitamins and the company.

Enter: Life Equals  A Kansas City, born and raised company that developed a product based on the desire for a wholesome energy supplement sans the sugars, calories and the icky stuff.  They partnered with Vitamin Angels and donate an equivalent amount of children's multivitamins to undernourished children with each sale.

The Focus + Energy supplement, which what started it all, is a blend of B vitamins, herbs (including guarana a natural source of caffeine) and amino acids.

I don't promote anything on TBB without it being road tested.  So I decided to be a guinea pig for a week for you guys.  I spent one week of marathon training and supplement taking.  The verdict? It get's my seal of approval.  I did not use it for energy during the runs, but took it afterward to prevent that post-run slump that occurs a few hours after.  You know what I'm talking about.  Best news is: no jitters.

I "liked" Life= on Facebook - I like the idea of bettering yourself betters the world (i.e. you buy vitamins, a child gets vitamins.)

I liked Life= on Facebook. I like that they provide vitamins to children who wouldn't otherwise get what they need. Good cause.
